The Equi Family

Hi !    We’re the Equi family, and we’re glad you found our home page !

We’re a family of six living in the Noble section of Abington Township, PA, right on the border with Jenkintown Borough – meaning we have a Jenkintown address.  If you were looking for the Noble-Abington-Jenkintown Equis, then you’re in the right place !

Scroll down to meet each one of us, or use the menus above to get to each of our individual pages to learn more.

And please visit our Contact page in the menu above, too, if you want to find out how to get in touch with us, or to get directions to our home.

Curt

I’m Curt, and I’m the husband and father.

During the weekdays, I work for Intel Corp., one of the original Silicon Valley tech companies.  While Intel is known for their hardware (see my Details page), I am helping them take their extensive portfolio of software assets and turn those into another profitable line of business.  Yes, it’s still part of that “cloud” thing I’ve been doing for years.

On my nights and weekends, I care for my family, work on our century-old home(s), play a little Ultimate Frisbee, watch the Flyers / Eagles / Phillies depending on the season, and, worship, pray, and serve where I can.

Stephanie

I’m Stephanie, and I’m the wife and mother – but all the kids just call me “Momma”.  So does Curt !

My job is to keep everything in the Equi Family running.

When the kids were younger, we had chosen to school them at home, so I managed all of that.

Now that they’re all in college or pursuing their own careers, I’ve had time to spend getting to know some of the “seasoned saints” at our church, Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Glenside.  They are wonderful people who still have so much to share and give, and I’m pleased to be able to help them with the little things they need as they’ve given so much to so many already.

I also take care of everything around the house, making sure we all have food to eat, clothes to wear, and that we have light, heat and water in the house.

After all that is done, I relax by reading, scrapbooking, spending time with my extended family, and worshiping, praying and serving in other ways with our church family.

Madalyn

I’m Madalyn, the oldest of the Equi kids.

Teaching and caring for children is my passion – especially those who need a little more care and attention than the average kid.  That’s why I am a Special Needs / Multiple Disabilities teacher in the Cincinnati Public Schools.  I am currently leading a classroom in the Carson Elementary School.

Prior to that, I did similar work for the School District of Philadelphia at the Thurgood Marshall School.  I studied at Grove City College, where I majored in Special and Elementary Education and graduate Cum Laude.

Because I love kids so much, though, I even spend time with them in my free time, too.  On Sundays, I’ve taught the children’s Sunday School at Grace Anglican Church in Grove City.

When I’m not with kids, I enjoy participating in and leading equestrian activities.  I’ve ridden personally, chaired the Equestrian Club at Grove City College, worked as a stable hand at the nearby Little Neshannock Stables, and am a certified riding instructor.  It will be exciting to find a stable in the Cincinnati area where I can ride.

Matthew

I’m Matthew, and I’m the second of the Equi kids – but the first boy!

How things work, taking them apart, building things back better… these have always fascinated me.  So I’ve got a fantastic day-job at Iron Mountains – a developer of innovative and high-quality products for babies and their parents.  I work in their “crash lab” as a test technician, where I apply my degree in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College to help ensure our products are the safest they can be.

Hockey is my favorite sport.  I’ll play ice hockey or roller hockey… doesn’t matter.  I was a founding member and secretary of the Grove City Ice Hockey team while I was in college, and enjoy playing men’s rec-league seasons as time permits.

I’m also very active in my church.  Well, two churches, actually.  I am a member with my family at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Glenside, but several of my close friends attend Elkins Park Reformed Presbyterian Church, where I’m very involved with “YABS” – the Young Adult Bible Study there.  It’s a really fun group with great fellowship and serious study of the Word. We’re always happy to have new folks visit!

Morgan

I’m Morgan, and I’m the artist in the family.

My passion is for drawing and animation.  I love to sketch faces and figures, and then bring them to life.  I’m currently a student at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where I’m double-majoring in Animation and Graphic Design.

Check my Details page to see my Portfolio and other information about me.

And I still also love AWANA, which is a Bible-centered group for youth.  I like being a leader for the younger kids in the church where I went to AWANA when I was a kid, from Cubbies all the way to my Citation award!

Michael

I’m Michael and I’m the youngest of the Equi kids.

My biggest interests are in physical training, athletics, sports, and everything that they involve.  I play football for Grove City College, and spend most of my year preparing for that.  But working out and physical training is something I enjoy just in its own right, too.  Every day I’m eager to get to the gym and work on my own progress, technique, form.  And I really enjoy helping others with that as well.

That’s why I’m majoring in Exercise Science at Grove City.  I would like to continue to stay involved in the field even when my college athletic career is over.  Watching people improve, get stronger, run faster is tremendously rewarding.  As is watching them grow as people as they do that.  I’ve had some great coaches on the field, trainers in the gym, and even mentors in life – sometimes they even cross over.  I’m in a great Bible Study with some folks I’d never have known if it weren’t for the community at the gym or on the field.  Goes to show that working out isn’t just a physical pursuit!
